STEAM Teens

For teens that have shown an interest in programming or perhaps would like to try something completely new, our STEAM TEEN programme will give them an exciting introduction to the world of code.

Our enthusiastic teachers will show them how to programme tiny handheld computers called Microbits. They’ll have the opportunity to choose what they’d like to create and then bring it to life with their new-found knowledge in coding. Students will also be able to take away their Microbit and keep practicing their coding at home.

STEAM focuses on creative applications of knowledge in Maths, Science, Technology and Engineering that will put students in good stead if they’re approaching GCSE’s. If they’re taking Computer Science itself, then they’ll enjoy a fantastic opportunity to put what they’ve learnt into practice.

To develop them as well-rounded individuals, our programme is interspersed with inspiring arts sessions, specially designed to give young coders confidence in communication and collaboration. Adding this dimension to STEM will give them a huge advantage in pursuing a career in a non-technical industry.

As probably the most in-demand career at the moment, this taste of life as a computer-scientist will prepare our STEAM TEEN participants well should they wish to work with the subject after school.

No prior coding experience is required but there are some prerequisites for attending this programme:
